PORTS & HARBOURS

 

PROJECT: The New Port and Industrial Area at Hidd, Bahrain

CLIENT: Ministry of Works & Agriculture, Construction Projects Directorate.

PROJECT VALUE: $132 million

The project involves the creation of a new deep water Port with 1800 meters of quay and reclamation of over 240 hectares of land for the creation of an Industrial Area.

In addition to the main Causeway serving the project area, the study incorporated the planning and design of a complete infrastructure network including

  • roads,

  • paved areas,

  • sewage treatment plant and sewerage system,

  • raw and treated water supply and distribution,

  • electrical supply and distribution,

  • firefighting, telephone and street lighting networks and

  • all associated Port and Industrial Area buildings.

Master planning, design, preparation of tender and contract documents, project management and supervision of construction.

PROJECT: Linord Urban Development, Lebanon

CLIENT: SESNOR (SOCIETE D'ETUDES ET DE SERVICES POUR LE PROJET DE DEVELOPPEMENT DU LITTORAL NORD DE LA VILLE DE BEYROUTH, S.A.R.L.)

VALUE: $600 million

A vast development scheme on 2.5 million m sea reclaimed site to provide touristic facilities, residential districts, business zones, commercial areas, tank farms for oil & gas, public parks, yacht marinas, fishing port, total community facilities and complete infrastructure services.

In addition to over 3 Km length of Quay Walls and sea defenses, the main Land Use components of the project may thus be summarized as follows:

Residential Area

The residential zone of Linord Project is a differentiated development characterized by:

  • Quiet exclusive neighborhoods: Low traffic, adequate underground parking; Courtyards, parks, playground; pure residential, no retail on the ground floor

  • Community facilities and services within walking distance.

  • Variety of housing in a uniform style framework: Town houses; Apartment buildings; Beach apartments, connected to the Leisure & Commercial zone, the Marina and the District Park through a tree lined seaside promenade and the central landscaped pedestrian network

  • High quality environment: Modern and controlled development; Docklands with superb panoramic views over Beirut’s

  • Central District, Jounieh and the Metn Mountains.

Leisure & Commercial Area

The leisure & commercial zone is located around the marina They form Together the largest commercial and recreational complex in the northern suburbs of Beirut City. The attractions and activities planned for this area will keep the community and visitors alike busy throughout the day and the night

Tree Lined Seaside Promenade

Bordering the Mixed Use zone the promenade constitutes the main public attraction of Linord project. It provides about 2km of well-landscaped seaside pedestrian promenade to the benefit of Linord residents and visitors Furthermore, it presents the main pedestrian link between the different zones of the project and the district park.

Marina

The Marina was designed for a capacity of over 500 yachts and sport boats. It forms the focus of the leisure and commercial zone of Linord project.

CONSULTING SERVICES : 

The services provided for this study included the following:

  • Feasibility study and Master Plan,

  • Advanced preliminary design,

  • Tender documents,

  • Extensive geotechnical studies

  • Oceanographical and Bathymatrical surveys.

PROJECT: Durrah, Ras Al Barr, Bahrain

CLIENT: Dallah Real Estate & Tourism Company

VALUE: $450 million

Development of a 700 Ha marine-based residential and recreation city located along a 5 km shore line on the south eastern coast of Bahrain.

The project includes 30 million cubic meters of dredging to allow sea within the area and backfilling reclamation to 3 artificial islands with beach front villa plots. A total of 38 km of shoreline are protected using rock armour and provided with underwater culverts and road bridges between islands to allow water circulation.

The project comprises 1600 residential plots, various commercial and recreational facilities, services generation and treatment plants, and complete infrastructure.

CONSULTING SERVICES:

Hydraulic studies and final design and tender documents for dredging, backfilling reclamation, marine works, roads, parcels and complete infrastructure works, construction cost estimates, tender evaluation, construction management and supervision.
