Improvements to 4km of major urban ring road to grade separated dual carriageway standards. The project involved
numerous structures, including a 310m dual two-lane tunnel beneath two highway junctions and a railway embankment, an 835m dual two-lane steel/concrete composite viaduct over a major junction and railway lines, and a 670m dual lane steel/concrete composite viaduct over a new roundabout and three water courses.
Over
a period of some 30 years consultancy services provided have included production of feasibility studies of various options for improvements; traffic modelling and forecasting; assessment of scheme economics and environmental effects; liaison with all interested parties; preparation of materials for public exhibitions and inquiry;
preparation of all necessary ; detailed design; preparation of tender documents;
project management; construction supervision and contract administration.
Sir Frederick Snow & Partners Ltd also provided advice to the client on land acquisition, compensation, landscaping and noise
and pollution levels.
