A12 LONDON

Several projects have been performed by the Company in conjunction with
 EATON WAYGOOD ASSOCIATES
A Company of environmental artists and designers.

PROJECT: Fish Island, A12 London

CLIENT: London Borough of Tower Hamlets (Project managed by Leaside regeneration Ltd)

A programme of environmental improvement to an industrial area occupying a significant area of development potential. Situated within London Borough of Tower Hamlets, it is bounded by the River Lea to the east, the A12 to the west and Hackney to the north.

As well as bringing significant improvement to the heart of Fish Island, the programme also signalled this improvement along its road corridor. Three projects were identified to achieve this: Old Ford footbridge, Wallis Road Footbridge and Monier Road.

The A12 carries a large volume of daily traffic into and out of east and central London. The selection of sites fulfilled the objective of broadcasting a confident, prominent and positive image for Fish Island.

PROJECT: Wallis Road Footbridge

This footbridge crosses the A12, connecting Victoria Park on the west at Cadogan Terrace to Fish Island, at the junction of Wallis Road and Rothbury Road, close to Hackney Wick station.

Structure from mild steel sections, galvanised and coated with Abcite powder coating resin.  Fixed to bridge parapet with resin anchors and to soffit with epoxy resin adhesive. Cladding panels from grade 316, coloured, embossed, stainless steel sheet.

Lighting- 250W tungsten halogen, colour wheel projector with side emitting fibre optic cable in clear trunking to main hoops. 316 grade stainless steel, IP68, 0.5W, low voltage, coloured LED units. 50W tungsten halogen, IP5, twin head spotlights with green dichroic filters.

PROJECT: Old Ford Footbridge

This footbridge crosses the A12 connecting Old Ford on the west at Wendon Street, to Fish Island at Crown Close, by the roundabout on Wick Lane.

Structure from mild steel sections, galvanised and coated with Abcite powder coating resin.   Fixed to bridge parapet with resin anchors and to soffit with epoxy resin adhesive. Cladding panels from grade 316, coloured, embossed, stainless steel sheet.

Lighting- 250W tungsten halogen, colour wheel projector with side emitting fibre optic cable in clear trunking to main hoops. 316 grade stainless steel, IP68, 0.5W, low voltage, coloured LED units. 50W tungsten halogen, IP55, single and twin head spotlights with green dichroic filters.

PROJECT: Monier Point

This site is located on Fish Island at the junction of Monier Road, Wick Lane and Wansbeck Road. The abutment wall of the A12 provides a strong backdrop to the work. Hard and soft landscaping were produced in association with Moore Piet and Brookes Landscape architects.

Structures from heavy section mild steel tube, galvanised, epoxy primed and top coated with an acrylic urethane gloss system. The fabric panels are from Ferrari Precontraint polyester PVC. The interconnecting cables are tensioned and sprung 5mm stainless steel rope.

Lighting- 250W tungsten halogen colour wheel projectors in stainless steel cabinets, with side and end emitting cables and spot units. 316 grade stainless steel, IP68, 0.5W, domed top, low voltage LED paver units, recessed into the retaining wall.

Other projects include:
Spirit of Sport, Scarborough Wave, Plymouth Industrial Park and Whitby Trans-Pennine.
