Surface Water Management, Flooding and
SUDS Related Projects Dunfermline Eastern Expansion (DEX) Development Area for the DEX Group.Preparation
of the SUDS design criteria to be employed on new and brownfield
developments within the 5.5 square kilometre development area sited above
areas of known flood risk. Dunfermline Eastern Expansion (DEX) Development Area for Fife Council.Fife
Council's extended appointment to review and report on the surface water
drainage and SUDS aspects of all planning and road construction submissions
within the DEX area and subsequently for other parts of Fife. Chapel Development Area, Kirkcaldy for Fife Council.Providing
advise on surface water drainage runoff from the new proposed development
area including an assessment of the capacity of the existing watercourses
and S.W. drainage networks and thereafter preparing the design criteria for
the use and integration of SUDS treatment and control facilities within the
proposed development areas. Providing
technical advise to Fife Council and the developer on the use and
implementation of regional SUDS facilities within part of the proposed
development area. South East Wedge Development Area for the South East Wedge GroupOrganising
and participating in a series of workshops primarily outlining the use and
integration of SUDS facilities and BMP technology to treat and control the
increased surface water run-off generated by the proposed development of the
major 13 square kilometre area. Preliminary Outline Masterplan Siting and Sizing of SUDS within Shawfair Local Development Area for Midlothian Council.Combined
appointment with Derek Carter Associates to produce a preliminary SUDS
masterplan for Midlothian Council's Shawfair Development Area. Mains Burn Flood Assessment Reports and Prevention Scheme for West Lothian Council.Preparation
of burn catchment studies and reports identifying the flooding risk and bank
erosion problems associated with the upper and lower reaches of the Mains
Burn in and around Linlithgow and thereafter preparing an outline flood
prevention scheme utilising attenuation and surface water runoff control
techniques to provide an acceptable potential solution to the reported
flooding problems and thereafter submitting and obtaining approval for this
scheme from the Scottish Executive and the Planning Authority. Review of a Flood Risk Assessment Prepared in Relation to a Proposed Residential Development within the Catchment of the Chapel Burn at Larbert for Falkirk Council.Review
and report on the flood risk assessment submitted to Falkirk Council as part
of the planning process and thereafter provide technical advise to the
Council on related surface water drainage matters including the provision of
control and SUDS treatment facilities upstream of the proposed development
site. Preliminary Assessment for a combined Flood Alleviation Control Structure/Regional SUDS at the RSNH Site in Larbert, Falkirk for Falkirk Council in association with Forth Valley Primary Care NHS Trust.Preparation of a preliminary flood alleviation assessment/SUDS report including initial calculations, notional sizing and preparation of location plans for flood alleviation control structures to deal with the existing downstream flooding combined with regional SUDS facilities associated with the proposed future redevelopment of the RSNH site in Larbet. Drainage Systems: Bishop's Wood Stream, Tadley LOCATION: Tadley, Surrey, UKDATE: CurrentBasingstoke & Deane Borough Council asked Sir Frederick Snow & Partners Ltd to study a 400m stretch of the Bishop's Wood Stream at Tadley due to concerns about environmental impacts of the stream's current construction. Health and safety issues affecting maintenance personnel and the general public also had to be considered due to the nature of the current safety fencing arrangement. The company is currently producing and costing a set of four options for the improvement of the stream, having examined the site and previous reports concerning it. |
