The rehabilitation and upgrading of existing
outfall and sewage pre-treatment headworks to serve the 1.2m
population of southern and eastern areas of Greater Beirut.The
pre-treatment process works include screening, degritting, oil
removal, pumping facilities and a 2.25km, 1,200mm diameter sea outfall
with multiple diffusion nozzles at 60m below sea level. The project
was a continuation of works previously undertaken by the firm, but
disrupted by the civil war.Consultancy services provided included
damage assessment of civil works and mechanical and electrical
equipment; re-design of pumping stations and electro-mechanical
utilities; tender documentation for the headworks and sea outfall, and
construction supervision. |
